Ancient man witnessed cataclysmic phenomena in the skies (comets, meteors and fireballs), and was therefore inspired to tell stories of the battles of the Canin. These battles supposedly occurred at the very beginning of time, long before mankind was created on the Earth. The ancients believed in two exploded planets, and this allowed the myth-makers to envision dramatic wars between the gods who remained in Heaven and the gods who had been cast down into the Underworld
